She coined the term Elder Millennial in her eponymous stand up special Elder Millennial (2018) which is also the topic of Iliza Shlesinger: Over and Over, her fan-u-mentary that took audiences behind-the-scenes of her life on tour. Her life was affected due to her experience as a foster child and a the state ward. The parents she was raised by were not able to show affection because she was the result from an illicit relationship. It was a blessing to get a call at the party of Spike Lee, a director and producer of a film. The film she starred in Do The Right Thing was well received. The actress went on to appear in other acclaimed movies like White Men Can't Jump, and Fearless. In Living Colour saw her become a well-known choreographer for the series. In addition, she has been nominated at three Emmy Awards. She also was a Broadway Actor in the role in The Ritz, as Googie Gomez.
